Galaxy

There’s a galaxy on my ceiling,

And in it I see the shape of things to come,

Though I cannot discern it,

The consequence of moment,

Though I seem to ignore it.

Distracted by its beauty

I lose track

and wander

With one eye open,

To see what’s coming

And the other closed,

To wait for something better.

Forgive me my insatiability,

Though no excuse,

It rings with truth,

Effortless as laying down to sleep,

And waking up to run.

A memory my pulse wont soon forget,

Rising from unknown influencers,

To illuminate the way,

Until my eyes have adjusted,

And I can see for myself.
